Delivering sustainable rental homes for Lendlease in Brisbane
With a fast-emerging build-to-rent market in Australia, Lendlease is developing a 37-storey residential tower to help alleviate demand on rental housing in Brisbane, Queensland.
We have been appointed by Lendlease to provide cost management and superintendent services during the construction phase of the Exhibition Quarter Residential Tower 1 (EQR1) in Brisbane.
This will be Lendlease’s first build-to-rent (BTR) project in Australia and provides residents with a high-quality, long-term alternative to the traditional apartment rental market.
This purpose-built development will provide 443 BTR residences in a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments over 37 levels. Located near major transportation hubs, EQR1 will provide dedicated on-site service teams for residents, as well as a 24-hour first-class concierge service. The building will be fully electric and target a 5 Star Green Star Buildings Version 1 rating from Green Building Council Australia.
This latest appointment follows previous work with Lendlease on other residential projects both in Australia and around the world, including One Circular Quay in Sydney, Australia and Silvertown Quays in London, United Kingdom.
Francisco Smout, Director, Turner & Townsend, said:
With the national rental vacancy rate at less than two percent and rental prices through the roof, supporting Lendlease on the Exhibition Quarter project is a step towards addressing Australia’s housing shortage, increasing opportunities for people to live in more sustainable accommodation.
