Turner & Townsend protects the environment to ensure water security in the South of England
Turner & Townsend has been appointed by Southern Water Services (SWS) to support the delivery of its AMP8 Capital Programme, its largest and most ambitious investment programme to date, aimed at securing water supplies in the South for future generations and reducing the impacts of pollution on the environment.
The AMP8 capital investment programme will focus on some of the water industry’s most significant challenges by responding to the impacts of climate change, population growth, water scarcity and pollution.
Turner & Townsend's regional team of experts will support SWS by providing project management and programme management services including delivery portfolio planning and insight, reporting insight, and project and programme controls capability. Its services will support SWS to plan and deliver their programme consistently and efficiently using accurate data and reporting to inform investment strategy and decision making. This framework will run for five years, with an option to extend for a further three years.
Turner & Townsend's teams have a wealth of experience in the set-up and delivery of major programmes and evolving the programme management capability of our clients. Contributing to this framework builds on the company'sextensive portfolio and experience within the regulated water sector.
James Corrigan, Managing Director, Infrastructure, Turner & Townsend, UK commented:
Amidst evolving pressures, such as changing rainfall patterns, rising network demands, capacity constraints and stricter environmental regulations, the UK water industry faces significant challenges. These factors compel a thorough reevaluation of investment strategies, programme management approaches and asset management practices within the sector.
“We are delighted to be appointed on this framework. With intricate and meticulous planning our teams will support Southern Water Services to deliver their ambitious AMP8 programme of works.”
