Turner & Townsend's South Australian team to deliver New SA Forensic Centre

The South Australian Government has committed AU$348.9m to build a New Forensic Science Centre in South Australia (SA), with the new facility supporting the state’s operations of Forensic Science SA and the SA Police Forensic Services Branch.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has appointed Turner & Townsend's South Australia team to provide cost management services to support the delivery of the New SA Forensic Centre

The new facility will replace the existing ageing infrastructure to deliver a site that is sustainable, flexible, and safe for both the Attorney-General's Department and the South Australian Police.

The New SA Forensic Centre will provide upscaling operational capabilities to allow the two agencies to continue jointly delivering expert scientific services to the justice system, as well as enabling best practice functional requirements and workflow.

Once complete, it will provide an improved environment aiding wellbeing for staff and users and a modern forensic services facility to lead technology and innovation nationally. This will enable current and future forensic service delivery to adapt to justice system requirements in an optimised co-location of statewide forensic capabilities.

Moamen Elbadawy, Director, Cost Management, Turner & Townsend, Australia said:

As a critical component of the justice system, the New SA Forensic Centre will be a key driver in the future success of forensic services in South Australia, transforming the judicial process and benefiting the broader community.

“This is a significant appointment for our cost management team in South Australia and we are excited to be selected by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport as a trusted partner to lead the delivery of the new centre. I am confident that our team's expertise within the industrial, science and technology sector will enable the best outcomes for the project.”
