Turner & Townsend supports London Luton Airport on its route to net zero
Turner & Townsend has been appointed as one of the main suppliers of London Luton Airport’s (LLA) project management services framework to help support with the delivery of its sustainable growth strategy, net-zero targets and efficient upgrade and operation of its airport facilities.
Based in Bedfordshire, LLA is the fifth largest airport in the UK. As part of the three-year framework, the global professional services company will provide project management services, cost consultancy, safety assurance, site supervision and schedule management.
The appointment builds on Turner & Townsend’s existing work with the airport, including the development of a solar farm renewables project, EV strategy, previous terminal extension, and runway resurfacing initiative, supporting the airport’s 2040 net-zero ambition.
James Corrigan, UK Managing Director, Infrastructure said:
This three-year appointment on this framework significantly strengthens our relationship with London Luton Airport and draws on the depth of experience we have in the aviation sector, having worked with many UK airport companies over many years. We are committed to supporting LLA on its sustainable growth journey while meeting its ambitious net-zero targets.
Alejo Perez Monsalvo, Capex Director at London Luton airport, said:
”This framework provides further opportunity to collaborate with Turner & Townsend across an ambitious pipeline of exciting projects that will ensure we continue to operate safely and efficiently, as we continue to invest in plans for responsible and sustainable growth.”
