Turner & Townsend supports Network Rail in Wales and the UK’s Western region
Turner & Townsend has been appointed to Network Rail’s Cost Planning and Estimating Services framework for Wales and the Western region of the UK, as the major infrastructure owner continues its efforts in enhancing and maintaining the UK’s rail network.
As part of the three-year framework, Turner & Townsend's UK-wide cost and commercial management team will support the rail client with accurate cost plans and estimates underpinned by the company's benchmarking services.
The framework has been designed to provide Network Rail with access to suitably qualified and experienced estimating professionals to meet the expected volume of workload within Wales and the UK’s Western region. Framework consultants will provide cost plans and estimates to support budget development, investment authorisation and cost reconciliation.
This appointment builds upon Turner & Townsend's existing nationwide work with Network Rail, including the company's ongoing support to several other frameworks, such as the Operational Programme Delivery and Project Delivery Services, as well as its project, programme and portfolio management support for their telecoms professional services framework and North West & Central (NW&C) Region framework.
All of this is in addition to Turner & Townsend's other UK commissions, such as the Midlands Mainline Electrification programme and Cambridge South station development.
Andy Davies, Director, Turner & Townsend, UK, said:
