Turner & Townsend supports sustainable energy through its award-winning partnership with Global Energy Transition
Global Energy Transition (GET) is a not-for-profit network, advancing those involved in traditional energy industries to reskill and find work in the sustainable energy economy.
Turner & Townsend's natural resources team in North America has been recognised with an award of excellence at GET's first annual award ceremony, held in Houston, Texas.
The award Turner & Townsend received acknowledges its partnership with GET, which sees the business dedicating volunteer time, intellectual capital and mentoring.
Since its inception, GET has successfully helped over 500 people in sustainable energy transition and hopes to benefit many more in the coming months and years, serving as a model for other industries and countries.
Establishing partnerships with organisations such as GET are a catalyst for providing a sustainable future, which is core to the business’ purpose, vision and values, helping to develop a diverse, highly skilled workforce that can transform performance for a green, inclusive and productive world.
David Whysall, Global Managing Director of Natural Resources, commented:
The global energy transition is going to need to attract, retrain and sustain the brightest and best minds.
“We are honoured to have been recognised with this award from Global Energy Transition, who are doing an incredible job of transitioning energy workers into the low carbon emissions economy. We look forward to supporting their global endeavours going forward.”
