The Jewel on the Gold Coast opens at Australia’s premier tourist destination
AW Jewel Pty Ltd has announced the completion of the AU$1.4 billion Jewel development, Australia’s largest hotel and residential complex located on Surfers Paradise, Australia’s premier tourist destination.
Stretching 130 metres of absolute beach frontage, the innovative five-star Green Star complex on the beachfront is Australia’s largest hotel and residential complex. The three towers feature 510 residential apartments, the 169-room five-star Langham Gold Coast hotel, restaurants, conferences and meeting facilities.
We assembled a highly experienced project management team and embedded it to work side-by-side with the client to manage all stages of this major project. We guided and advised AW Jewel Pty Ltd through the initial design and planning approval stages, the tender stage for the engagement of building contractors, and the detailed design and construction phases.
At its peak, the project involved more than 1,000 construction personnel on-site and a monthly spend of AU$30m, creating sustained employment for local consultants and contractors as well as substantial business and economic benefits for local, intra-state, inter-state and overseas suppliers, businesses and contractors.
Now complete, the project is expected to employ more than 300 people directly and provide a substantial boost to the Gold Coast economy.
Ken Moschner, Project Director, said:
“AW Jewel Pty Ltd’s commitment to bringing the Jewel to life to create a destination where people can live, work and play is extremely exciting. The opening comes at an important time as domestic and international tourism in Australia increases."
The completion of this iconic project represents an incredible achievement for everyone involved and important for the local economy and society. I am proud of the contribution that our team has made to the Jewel in the early stages through to successful opening. We are now focused on and looking forward to continuing to work with our client towards the completion of One Circular Quay development in Sydney.
