Turner & Townsend Appointed to Thames Water’s new Asset, Capital and Engineering Professional Services Framework
Turner & Townsend has been appointed to Thames Water’s Asset, Capital and Engineering Professional Services Framework, securing a role within LOT 5: Commercial and Assurance Services & Resources and LOT 6: Programme Management Office Services & Resources.
The five-year framework, with an option to extend for an additional three years, supports Thames Water’s ambitious AMP8 capital programme (2025–2030), which aims to address ageing infrastructure and climate resilience challenges.
The framework also aims to foster greater collaboration across the supply chain, enabling suppliers to share best practices and contribute to Thames Water’s operational improvements. This collaborative approach is expected to enhance the delivery of the company’s most ambitious capital programme to date.
As part of this framework, Turner & Townsend will be delivering comprehensive project controls and programme management office (PMO) services, including cost and commercial management and project management. This builds on the organisation’s successful strategic resource optimisation work as well as its work on the existing AMP7 framework.
The framework, valued at up to £400m, represents a significant step in Thames Water’s efforts to enhance its water treatment works, sewage treatment works, and the wider water and sewage network. By focusing on innovation and collaboration, the framework aims to ensure reliable, secure and affordable services for customers while delivering measurable environmental improvements.
James Corrigan, Turner & Townsend UK Managing Director, Infrastructure, commented:
We are pleased to build on our 15-year partnership with Thames Water, contributing to its efforts to enhance infrastructure and deliver essential services to customers.
"By providing a wide range of services on this framework, we aim to support the successful delivery of this strategically important programme while helping to achieve meaningful environmental and community benefits."
Preetinder Dhanoa, Capital Procurement Business Partner at Thames Water, added:
We are delighted to confirm these critical framework awards, which will be used to source asset engineering and capital professional services that are critical to the success of Thames Water’s AMP8 programme.
"This agreement will introduce a number of improvements to our previous arrangements, including driving value through innovation and partnership working."
