Turner & Townsend partner with the University of Sheffield to lead estate decarbonisation
Turner & Townsend is delighted to be working with the University of Sheffield to drive its ambitious Estate Decarbonisation Programme, a cornerstone of the university’s inspiring mission to meet net zero.
The transformative programme emphasises the university’s commitment to sustainability and positions it as a leader in decarbonisation in Sheffield City Region and across the UK.
Focused on eliminating fossil fuels and advancing heat decarbonisation, the initiative will implement a variety of cutting-edge approaches for individual buildings and heat networks. These measures build on the university’s remarkable progress, having already reduced emissions by an impressive 37 percent since 2018.
Turner & Townsend is delivering a comprehensive, programmatic, end-to-end solution to the complex challenge of decarbonising the built environment. From strategic planning, to programme set up and managing delivery on time and in budget, the team not only advise the university of what to do to meet net-zero goals, but also how to do it to maximise impact.
The approach includes full life-cycle cost analysis, ensuring the best return on investment for every tonne of carbon reduced.
This collaborative effort will be carried out within a dynamic, live operating environment, minimising disruption while enhancing other university and city-wide strategic objectives.
Building on a 28-year partnership with the university, Turner & Townsend brings its unparalleled sustainability expertise to develop an actionable roadmap and deliver impactful estate decarbonisation.
