Now in its fourth year, the Africa Tech Awards recognises businesses, institutions and individuals from across Africa, that are determined to see the region become a global leader in impact innovation.
During a ceremony at the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, we received the award for Digital Transformation, for leading digital change across our industry, using technology to overcome specific challenges and achieve significant project outcomes.
Through the use of real-time data to enhance our combined project and cost management expertise, we have successfully delivered multiple data centre projects in Africa including the PAIX NBO project and the IX Africa data centre. The award acknowledges our digital approach to the delivery of these projects and the critical role that these data centres have to play in the wider digital transformation of the region.
In recent years we have made significant investments into our core service offerings through our digital transformation programme. This has created new digital ways of working, providing tools and apps that increase our efficiency and knowledge about the projects and programmes we work on, ensuring the data is easily available to our people for the benefit of our clients.
Gerald Madondo, Head of Digital Transformation, Africa says:
Digital transformation in Africa is not possible without robust infrastructure. The recognition for our team during this year’s Africa Tech Week; is a real testament to the way we are working with our clients to enhance the performance of data centre delivery. It also shows the strength of the digital solutions we are developing, and how we are using them to drive industry change.
By harnessing digital technology we are making a difference to our clients; supporting our service excellence goals, and delivering successful projects and programmes across Africa.
Wendy has made several strides in advancing transformation in the data centre space across Africa, including her work to bridge the industry skills gap by mentoring young quantity surveyors.
