A new chapter for ABA Oman International School
The new school comes following the ABA board’s decision to relocate and expand its school campus (primary and secondary) to the new location in the Madinat Al Irfan city district - earmarked as a low-carbon sustainable development model.
The new campus includes classrooms, laboratories, a contemporary Learning Centre, an avant-garde Performing Arts Centre, and a state-of-the-art Athletics Centre complete with two full-size football pitches, three rooftop tennis courts, a 25-metre swimming pool, and state-of-the-art gymnasiums. It is also equipped with ground-level and underground parking.
A trusted advisor
As a trusted advisor and preferred supplier to ABA, we oversaw the execution of the project. By creating a dynamic, collaborative environment within the whole project team, we developed a shared vision to complete the project.
This was done by establishing positive stakeholder relationships supported by new agreements. This provided cost certainty for ABA and continued client confidence in the project.
Overcoming challenges
ABA enlisted our support in resolving claims relating to the period in which the project was paused and in overcoming project challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leveraging our value engineering expertise and ability to close out variation orders, we achieved significant savings for the client against the contractor’s estimated completion costs.
We successfully re-aligned the baseline programme, allowing the client to take occupancy in time for the school's inauguration ceremony opening the new ABA school campus in March 2022.
This event was attended by His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, son of the Sultan of Oman.
