Turner & Townsend Supports UK’s Department for Transport to deliver sustainable infrastructure

Turner & Townsend has been appointed to the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Specialist Technical and Commercial Advisory Services for Rail and Other Transport Modes Framework (STARThree).

This appointment is to support the delivery and development of sustainable infrastructure in the UK, and to support Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) participation. The DfT expects the framework to run over an initial two-year period, with an option to extend by a further one to two years.

As Medium Supplier, Turner & Townsend will be providing advisory services within two of the framework’s specialist categories in a multitude of areas, including project management and transport performance. The global professional services company will also be providing Commercial Advice (Category C) and Project and Programme Management Advice (Category E) to public bodies in the transport sector.

Turner & Townsend is already working with our family of specialist companies – Suiko, AMCL and Vertex – alongside a growing network of world-class suppliers, including Advanced Consultancy Ltd, Anturas and EFA Engineering.

James Corrigan, Managing Director, Infrastructure, UK, commented:

"The STARThree framework is a coherent commitment by the DfT to help decarbonise the transport network and help meet the UK’s net-zero targets by 2050. Sustainability must be central to everything we do, and this strategic appointment offers the platform to support the DfT in meeting its ambitions."

We are excited to further build on our relationship with DfT, while collaborating with our network of SMEs to ensure continued investment in local communities and specialist talent.
