Turner & Townsend's Sally Marshall assumes role as President of CoreNet UK chapter
Sally Marshall, Turner & Townsend UK Director of Occupier Services has officially stepped into the role as President for the UK Chapter of CoreNet, the global non-profit organisation for corporate and commercial real estate professionals.
Since her appointment as President Elect for the UK chapter last year, Sally has been supporting the network by encouraging innovation, bringing balanced opinion and hosting learning events providing industry insights to the CoreNet UK members. In October, she opened the CoreNet Future Focus event and formally introduced herself as the next Chapter President for 2025. As one of the youngest CoreNet UK presidents, she has ambitious plans for how to further develop the network for the thriving community of around 600 members, 200 of which are corporate occupiers.
Speaking on her appointment Sally says:
I will make sure we continue delivering interesting and relevant events, in amazing venues with great speakers, to further enhance CoreNet as the leading voice of the corporate occupier industry.
"Going forward, I also want to make visible the wide diversity of our fantastic network, and feature speakers and panelists who can offer different perspectives and unique viewpoints.”
One aspect of this will be to take a closer look at what the network can offer professionals of different generations, and at different stages of their careers. CoreNet already has a flourishing Young Leaders network and recently produced a whitepaper highlighting future trends that employers need to address to stay relevant in a competitive marketplace, The NextGen Workplace. However, Sally is keen to work with the Executive Committee to continue developing the offering for more senior professionals, who might have different motivations and ambitions.
“Together with the CoreNet leadership, I’d like to develop a space for everyone in the community to continue to learn, grow their network and further their career, regardless of where they are in their career journey,” she says.
Sally’s first event as President will be hosting the ‘Predictions and Resolutions’ panel on January 23, which will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the current challenges and opportunities we can expect to navigate during 2025.
Adam Hoy, CoreNet Past-President and VP, Head of Workplace, Real Estate, Facility Management & Global FM/RE and Fleet Procurement at GSK, congratulates Sally on the appointment:
It has been one of my professional highlights to lead this fantastic organisation, and I am looking forward to continuing in the role of ‘Past-President’ to partner with Sally as she assumes the leadership role.
"She has been a key part of the CoreNet team for years, and we are excited to see her lead the chapter with her passion and dedication.”
